Synopsis (from Barnes&Noble.com): Conducting a top secret investigation into the death of a fellow police officer has Lieutenant Eve Dallas treading on dangerous ground. She must put professional ethics before personal loyalties. But when a dead body is placed outside her home, Eve takes the warning personally. With her husband, Roarke, watching her every move, Eve is drawn into the most dangerous case of her career. Every step she takes makes her question her own sense of right and wrong - and brings her closer to a confrontation with humanity's most seductive form of evil...

Random Thoughts: Ceremony in Death is the fifth book in J.D. Robb’s Eve Dallas series. Ceremony has Eve and her assistant, Peabody, reluctantly delving into the world of Wicca and Satanists. It was a very fast-paced, entertaining book. I really like this series. In fact, #6: Vengeance in Death is up next in my bedside TBR pile ;o).

This is an oldie but a goody, so I just had to post! I do find I like Nora Roberts' more contemporary ones, though. (However, she's completely lost me on the paranormal ones.

On my bookshelf is "Tsunami," by Gordon Gumpertz. A fun page-turner about a possible tsunami about to wipe out Southern California, the scientist trying to sound the alarm (literally!), the special interests and establishment who thinks a scare will be bad for business, and the Coast Guard Commander who thinks the (female) scientist is right and the romance that ensues. It's a great adventure story with all kinds of fun -- you'll enjoy it!
