What Is It All About?

Ok, I have to admit that Lisa Roe very kindly sent me this book to review…*cough*…in August. I know, I know, it’s been 3 months…sigh...but I have a good excuse. Really. My plan was to review the book when I finished it. That’s how I’ve always worked this blog. I do not review books I don’t finish. Yeah, well…here’s the thing—I don’t think I’ll ever finish this book. And not because it’s not good. ‘Cause it is. I can’t finish it because it’s too good.

See, I’ve been working on my first romance novel for awhile now. I’m still learning (not that I expect this to stop, but there you have it). So every time I sat down to read Writing Romance I would read for a little while and then the most wonderful thing would happen—I would get so many ideas for my WIP (work-in-progress) that I had to stop reading and go write. This is a good thing—I assure you.

So, no, I haven’t finished reading Writing Romance, but I will. Eventually. In the meantime, I’m learning a lot and writing a lot. It works for me. If you’ve ever thought that you might want to write a romance (or you’ve started one or you’re in the middle of one now), check out Ms. Grant’s book—maybe it’ll work for you, too.

Fun tidbits:

  • The book also comes with a CD with hours of Grant’s seminars, a guide to creative relaxation and imagery (which I love!), templates to track backstory and book notes, and a whole lot more.
  • Vanessa Grant’s Website – check out all the romances she’s written, too. There’s bunches of them ;o).
  • Lisa Roe’s Website – If you review books on your blog, check out Lisa’s list. You might find something that appeals to you.

Let’s give people a variety of opinions! If you've reviewed this book (or a book by this author), leave me a link to your review in the comments and I'll link to your review, too!
