First sentence(s):
He's going to kill you.
Right here in the middle of this snow-covered godforsaken valley, he's going to kill you!
What is it all about?
In the wilds of Montana sits the small town of Grizzly Falls. And in the wintery woods around Grizzly Falls, a serial killer hunts his prey. Dubbed the "Star-Crossed Killer," he causes his victims to lose control of their cars on the snowy roads, rescues them from the wreckage, nurses them back to health, and then ties them--nude--to trees to die of exposure.
When someone sends Jillian Rivers photos of a man who appears to be her long-dead first husband from Missoula, Montana, she sets off to find them. The path she needs to travel takes her right through Grizzly Falls, where, like four other women before her, she careens off of the snowy road into a valley below. When Zane MacGreor shows up to rescue her from her crumpled car, Jillian has to wonder if he is friend or foe.

Random thoughts:
- First, let me warn you that while Left to Die concludes Jillian Rivers's story, it does not wrap-up the overarching serial killer plot. Therefore, you may want to have a copy of the sequel, Chosen to Die, handy so you can continue reading immediately.
- Left to Die was a fast-paced, exciting read. I think Jackson does a great job of fleshing out her characters (especially Zane and the detectives, Selena Alvarez and Regan Pescoli) and the twists and turns in the plot kept me guessing. I thoroughly enjoyed Left to Die and I can't wait to read the rest of the story which means that I'll be picking up my copy of Chosen to Die very, very soon (actually, I've already start it while trying to finish The Gravedigger's Daughter for my F2F book club next week at the same time).

This sounds like my kind of book. I've started a new policy with myself that blogger recommended books must first go on my TBR list - I cannot just go online and buy them first. It's been working pretty well in the 3 days I've implemented it, but I think a little fudging now and then is okay, don't you? I think I'll buy both of these.
Fudging is definitely allowed ;o).
