What Is It About? Suffering from depression and the return of her childhood nightmares, Clare Kimball, a celebrated New York sculptor, returns to her peaceful hometown of Emmitsboro, Maryland. She finds the same sleepy town she left behind at eighteen—except for one thing, the new sheriff, Cameron Rafferty. Cam, once the town bad boy, has also returned home—running from his own demons. When the town is rocked by a series of murders, Cam and Clare realize that they are somehow related to the decades old secret of what really happened to Claire’s father. The question is, will they be able to stop the evil before it’s too late?

Random Thoughts: I figured out part of the mystery pretty early on, but there’s a twist at the end I wasn’t suspecting at all. Overall, it was a suspenseful, enjoyable read.
