First sentence:
"Captain Ryland Miller leaned his head against the wall and closed his eyes in utter weariness."
What's it all about? After the death of her father Lily Whitney learns about his classified, and highly unethical, military experiment to create an elite squadron of soldiers with enhanced psychic powers. Having the same powers herself, Lily sets out to teach Captain Ryland and his men how to protect themselves from sensory overload. But Captain Ryland's men are dying and he is convinced that there is nothing accidental about their deaths. Can Ryeland and Lily find the murderer before it's too late for Ryeland or his men?

Random thoughts: Overall, I really liked Shadow Game. There was only one thing that prevented me from giving it an excellent rating and that was the dialogue between the two main characters. Not the content of the dialogue, but the fact that they kept calling each other by their names all the time. Every time Ryeland said something to Lily, he either said her name or called her honey. Every time (or nearly every time) he said something to her. If you're having a conversation with someone and they're the only other person in the room, do you constantly say their name? No. After a while, this pulled me out of the story every time I noticed it. It's a minor point, but it still annoyed me and knocked the book down a half a rose. Otherwise, I thought the story was well done and I'm curious about the other Ghostwalkers, so I'll continue on with the series (already have the next couple of books on my shelf, in fact).

Fun tidbits:Recommended for: someone in the mood for a hot romance with a paranormal twist.

I have read all the GhostWalkers books and thought the writing in Shadow Game a bit awkward...but the rest of the books are good and a couple exceptional...so definitely continue on.

I just reviewed this one as well but didn't like it as well. I liked it enough to give the series another try but I had some issues with the book in general. Nice review!
