Review: Count to Ten by Karen Rose

Title: Count to Ten
Author: Karen Rose
# pages: 550
Date published: 2007
Genre: romantic suspense

First sentence(s):

He stared at the flames with grim satisfaction. The house was burning.
What is it all about? Homicide detective Mia Mitchell is just returning to active duty after being wounded. And she's still upset that she was unable to protect her partner, Abe Reagan (hero from I'm Watching You), on that fateful day. Her first day back on the job she finds herself temporarily partnered with Lieutenant Reed Solliday of the Chicago Fire Department. While Abe heals, the pair must hunt down a serial arsonist and it becomes clear that Mia has some healing of her own to deal with. But as the body count rises, the connection between Mia and Reed grows stronger. And as he gets closer to home, they both realize that they will have to fight for what they really want.

Random thoughts: As with Karen's other books, Count to Ten grabbed me from the first page and didn't let go until I finished the book. I find the blend of danger, excitement, and romance in her books just right! I can't wait to get started on the next one, Die For Me.

Passion for the Page's Rating:

Loved it!

I've been wanting to try something by Karen Rose. This definitely sounds good, although I imagine I should start at the beginning of the series. :-) Thanks for the great review, Kristie!

Literary Feline - You can read this book first if you want to. The books aren't sequels, per se, but they do have some of the same characters in them. So, if you're like me and you want to know all the backstory for all the characters, I'd suggest starting with DON'T TELL. Hope you enjoy her books as much as I do! And thanks for stopping by ;o).
