Synopsis (from Barnes&Noble.com): The classic tale of a group of English school boys who are left stranded on an unpopulated island, and who must confront not only the defects of their society but the defects of their own natures.

Random Thoughts: Creepy. As the boys degenerate into barbarians I knew where the book was headed, but I still couldn’t stop reading it. It was like watching a train wreck. I can’t say I enjoyed Lord of the Flies, but I’m glad I finally got around to reading it. However, I won’t be reading it again.

I had to read this in high school. Definitely a very unsettling book.

I somehow missed it in high school ;o). Unsettling is a good word for it. Not destined to be my favorite book, but I'm not sorry I read it.

I missed it in high school too and recently bought it... It's one of those that I don't particularly want to read, but think I should...

I remember reading this one when I was a teen and really loving it for the creepiness. Now that I am older and the world is creepy enough I don't know if it would have the same impact.
